Editors Earl Wright II and Thomas C. Calhoun are accepting manuscripts for an edited book, Horror Stories and Tales of Survival: Life in Academia. See the description below or download the PDF announcement here.
Papers are now being accepted for an edited book examining the professional challenges experienced by persons in academia. The challenges addressed can include, but are not limited to, promotion and tenure; issues of collegiality; challenges experienced because of environmental disasters (e.g., hurricane, tornado wildfire, etc.); and challenges experienced by race, class, gender, sexual orientation, or physical ability at the adjunct, visiting professor, junior professor or senior professor level. Also, we welcome papers on the challenges experienced at the administrative level (Chairperson, Director, Dean, Provost or President). Conversely, we strongly encourage the submission of papers offering strategies and/or techniques for overcoming difficult and challenging professional experiences.
